With a satisfied nod Graye then turned to the nearby wall, where his earlier cohort now lurked, once again becoming an outline against the wall in the dim shadows cast by the lanterns. The goblin walked over to stand before the Reaper with his hands clasped behind his back.

Twilight - PrologueA heavy, tense atmosphere hung over the darkened room like a fog, accentuated by a somber and uncomfortable silence. A few dim lanterns hung from the ceiling and walls, their flames flickering wildly and threatening to go out at any moment, but otherwise there were no other light sources. A dozen or so men waited silently around the room, sitting in half-rotted chairs, leaning against a wall, or just simply standing in place. Barely any of them moved save for a slight twitch of a finger or a brief turn of a head, though many of them gave quick, terse glances at the door. Time Flies - Chapter 6Silence. That was the most notable thing about the place. Not a sound anywhere. It almost made one wish for rain, sleet, hail, anything to break the overwhelming silence that filled every nook and cranny. The scenery wasn’t much better either. Grey bland rocks, as far as the eye could see. The mountain walls rose up on two sides, towering high above, with a great rift running down the middle that marked a wide valley. Down below there was only darkness, with nothing to measure how deep the chasm was… or when you would hit the bottom.
